Screen looks washed out due to contrast or brightness out of adjustment.
Cause:
The contrast and brightness controls on the monitor are out of adjustment.
Solution:
Adjust the contrast and brightness on the monitor.
1) Open a word processor and open a text document (place some text on the screen).
2) Locate the brightness and contrast controls on the monitor. Try one of the following locations:
a) Just underneath the lower front edge of the monitor.
b) Behind a small control panel door on the front of the monitor.
c) Along the left or right side of the monitor.
d) Somewhere on the rear panel of the monitor.
NOTE: For the exact location of the controls, consult the manual that came with the display unit.
3) Adjust the brightness and contrast controls until the right balance of color appears on the display image.
